Co-released
with the Brooklyn label Colour Sounds Recordings, Once There Were
Some, is a midnight séance conjuring the spirit of the
avant-improv scene of Brooklyn's underground. Unfurling the combined
forces of double-bassist Jordon Schranz (the eASTERN sEABOARD,
ex-La Otracina), guitarist Ninni Morgia (S.X APPEAL, ex-White
Tornado, La Otracina), and drummer Adam Kriney (Owl Sounds Exploding
Galaxy, La Otracina) with vocal sound artist Marie Evelyn, QUIVERS
bring together fast and furious with outer space massiveness.
Reeling in the heady mixture of 60's psychedelia, 70's prog-rock,
and 80's hard-core, this record cuts out its own piece of the
Sonic History. A blend of Sonny Sharrock/Boredoms/Black Flag-influenced
frenzied guitar and acoustic sounds of every color, it can be
menacing one moment, and blissfully spacious the next.

If
someone were to rewrite the history of music substituting Black
Flag for Mozart this is probably what you'd get. The second
full length from Brooklyn's Quivers, and on a limited vinyl only
release, 2012 (the year the Mayans predict a worldly demise) is
a hard-hitting exploration of the outer reaches from start to
finish. Ninni Morgia (Right Moves), Jordon Schranz
(the Eastern Seaboard), Adam Kriney (La Otracina), and Chris Welcome
(Stony Mountain) bring an onslaught of sound –- from Zen-like
atmospherics to wall of sound strings and percussions.
