Deborah
Johnson, aka CandyStations, is a Brooklyn based
multi-disciplinary artist.
She spends the majority of her time as a traveling video performer,
having designed visuals and sets for Calexico, Lambchop, Sufjan
Stevens, and Wilco. When at home, she can be found working on a wide
range of projects including record artwork, t-shirt designs, videos,
and interactive stuffs for clients such as Japanese pop-star Chocolat,
Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, The Aluminum Group, Billabong, and Kayon
Designs, and hopefully her own personal work.
She recently had her first solo art show entitled "up stage,"
displaying drawings, screen prints, collages, and other objects based
on her rock visuals at Rebus Works, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Deborah is regarded as some kind of hardass by people who don't see
her trip over her own shadow or come completely undone at the sight of
a puppy wearing a hoodie.
